    Kinetics of the Nitrogen Pink Afterglow

    The kinetic processes resulting in the pink afterglow emission in pure nitrogen are given. The main role play the vibrationally excited nitrogen ground state molecules that by v-v processes are populated to high excited levels which by pooling populatesthe radiative N2(B) and N2(C) states. Reactions of highly vibrationally excited ground state molecules with the other metastables, dominantly electronically excited N2(A), N2(a) and N2(a'), create also the molecular ion that N2+(B) states is populated byy reactions with N2(X,v>11).

    Článek rozebírá kinetické procesy vedoucí k pozorování pink afterglow v čistém dusíku. Hlavní roli hrají vibračně excitované molekuly v základním stavu, ketré vlivem v-v procesů mohou být excitovány do vysokých vibračních stavů. Pomocí pooling procesů jsou pak obsazovány zářivé stavy N2(B) a N2(C). Reakce mezi vysoce vibračně excitovanými molekulami základního stavu a elektronově excitovanými stavy, zejména N2(A), N2(a) a N2(a') vedou ke vzniku molekulárního iontu, jehož stav N2+(B) je populován reakcemmi s molekulami N2(X,v>11).
