Hydrophilic magnetic non-porous microspheres for molecular diagnostics applications
Original language description
The following applications of magnetic particles in analytical chemistry and molecular diagnostics are dominant: separation or purification of chemical species (e.g. nucleic acids or proteins); their use as carriers of enzymes for catalytical purposes inbatch systems or as microreactors, and their application in sensors or biosensors. Magnetic nonporous hydrophilic microspheres poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate-co-ethylene dimethacrylate)-(P(HEMA-co-EDMA)), poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate-co-glycidyl methacrylate)?(P(HEMA-co-GMA)), and poly(glycidyl methacrylate)? (PGMA) were used as solid phase of enzymes for catalytical purposes in DNA analysis (such as RNase A, DNase I, proteinase K) and for specific and non-specific isolation of DNAs.
