The influence of zinc on the hydration and compressive strength of Portland cement
Original language description
The aim of this work is to investigate the effect of addition of elements presents in secondary raw materials on the hydration and compressive strength of Portland cement. In this study Zn nitrate and chloride were added to Portland cement. Concentration0.05, 0.1, 0.5 and 1 weight percent of zinc in cement were tested. After 1, 7, 28 day and three month age, the compressive strength was reduced or similar by addition of zinc in comparison with pure cement.
