Green solvent extraction of microbial lipids

  • Original language description

In this study, we test a set of green solvent mixtures to extract lipids from freeze-dried biomass of several oleaginous microorganisms. The extraction efficiency was estimated gravimetrically, and the biochemical fingerprint of lipid extracts was analysed by Fourier Transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. In addition, FTIR spectroscopy was used to evaluate the efficiency of extraction according to the methodology developed by Forfang et al. (2017).
