Novel Highly Stable Conductive Polymer Composite PEDOT:DBSA for Bioelectronic Applications
Original language description
PEDOT:PSS has become increasingly selected as a material of choice for various applications in bioelectronics field, especially thanks to its superior properties. However, there are still limiting disadvantages of this material, light cytotoxicity and inadequate biocompatibility. In this work, we present polymer material PEDOT:DBSA as a promising material for bioelectronic applications exhibiting excellent long-term stability, outstanding biocompatibility and electrical conductivity of the same order as that of PEDOT:PSS. The aplicability of PEDOT:DBSA in bioelectronics was proved using a model bioelectronic transistor device. This all indicates that proposed material poses the potential of improved substitution for PEDOT:PSS.
