Original language description
In a random group of volunteers the carotenoid content and composition in the serum was analyzed using HPLC on the reversed phase. Lutein was found the major serum carotenoid in Czech populatin, followed by b-carotene, lycopene and a-carotene. The consideable seasonal differences of total serum carotenoids were observed. Several common foods as potential sources of whole group of carotenoids were analyzed.
