In 2002 the research of the environmental management system in the South Moravian region companies was carried out, the research is the integral part of the institutional research project "Possible Trends of Development in Companies of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering with Special reference to the South Moravian Region" (Registration No. J 22/98 265 100017), Prof.Ing.Petr Němeček,DrSc. as the main researcher, where the Environmental Management Group was created. At the same time the research of thee current state of monitoring of the environmental costs in the Czech companies with implemented environmental management system pursuant to ISO 14001 or EMAS was running in the course of 2002, namely within the scope of solution of the grant project ofthe Grant Agency of the Czech Republic "Information about Environmental Costs for Environmental Management" (Registration No. 402/02/0092).
