Experimental diagnostic methods for vibration piezoelectric sensors
Original language description
The paper describes identification and diagnostic methods of micro cracks in vibration piezoelectric sensor. The main aim of work is to choose suitable measuring method and checking influence of micro cracks on measuring data from piezoelectric sensor (e.g. knock sensor). Methods used in work: measuring of impedance characteristics and measuring using frequency response characteristics. The unique reversible properties of piezoelements (direct and reverse piezoeffects) make it possible to use them as secondary information converters in measuring devices. Main motivation is find out original method(s) which will be useable for self-diagnostics. Results of paper describe the use of an impedance-based technique and the frequency response analysis technique for identification and influence of micro cracks in piezoelectric sensor. A series of experiments were conducted on prototype knock sensor, where was changed piezoelectric elements with different number of cracks. There was a significan
