Influence of Technological Parameters on a Quality of Atmospheric Plasma Sprayed Al2O3+13TiO2 and Cr2O3 Coatings

  • Original language description

This work is focused on evaluation of quality of hard Al2O3+TiO2 and Cr2O3 coatings produced by means of atmospheric plasma spraying (APS) technique. The different technological process parameters like plasma torch stand-off distance, gas flow rate, current and particle temperature and velocity was used to coating deposition. Above mentioned parameters were monitored during spraying using Tecnar Accura-spray G3C (on-line particle diagnostic system) unit. Main interest of the contribution was focused ona quality of resulting coating microstructure, where the amount of unmelted particles, microcracks and porosity at inter-splat regions were studied in detail. Based on the results gained from Accura-spray system, light microscopy and scanning electron microscope equipped with energy dispersive microanalyzer will be decided, which technological parameters provide the most optimal conditions for deposition of Al2O3+TiO2 and Cr2O3 coating by means of APS technique.
