Generation of humanized bone-marrow-like niche in immunodeficient mice
Original language description
Imunodeficient mice represent a standard in vivo model for study of different types of human leukemias. Not all leukemic cells, however, do engraft/proliferate after xenotransplantation to mice, which is supposedly caused by inter-species differences. This problem can be resolved by introducing a humanized microenvironment into the animal recipients, via sub-cutaneous implantation of a suitable biomaterial and human mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC).
