    In this article some properties of the generalized Laguerre functions (GLF) will be presented. The application of the generalized Laguerre functions for modeling of the dead time in the time domain will be shown. The speed of convergence for the approximating series with the generalized Laguerre functions will be compared with the simple Laguerre functions series.
