The Czech case: Students, Governance and the Interface with Secondary Education
Original language description
The chapter focused on three domains of research related to the implementation of European standards and guidelines for quality assurance (ESG) ? evaluation of students? results, quality assurance concerning the institutional governance and interconnections of higher education institutions with secondary schools in the area of quality assurance. The research methodology followed the implementation and translation of standards into the institutional quality systems emphasising the implementation staircase. The institutional policies and ESG in institutional reality were analysed in each domain and barriers of ESG implementation were discovered. Concluding reflections approved, similarly as it was found at the international level, that ESG perhaps codified what already become practice through earlier quality assurance mechanisms developed in European countries.
