Investment incentives and their impact on employment in the regions of the Czech Republic in light (shadow) of the social aspect of the Czech family businesses
Original language description
Family businesses form an important part of the national economy; they play an important role in the GDP creation, they are very important in their regions, create jobs, maintain traditions and cultural life and pass their know-how onto the next generation. Founders have built their business from scratch, thanks to their determination, effort, persistence, and enthusiasm. This article deals with the issue of investment incentives, newly created jobs and unemployment in individual regions of the Czech Republic since the start of investment incentives in 1998 until 2017 and, on the other hand, also deals with the social aspect and the benefits of family businesses for their region. The aim is to evaluate the investment incentives provided to enterprises (non-profit) and newly created jobs and their impact on the employment of a particular region and the importance and social contribution of family businesses in the region. It will be proven that investment incentives have no direct and significant impact on unemployment in the region and that the significance of family businesses as employers and cultural promoters is great. The smaller and poorer the region, the more important family businesses are. It may be noted that in some regions, incentives could contribute to a low level of unemployment, mainly due to the large number of newly created jobs, for example, in automobile factories. On the other hand, the newly created workplace could only “attract” employees from other places.
