WP06V003 Evaluation of different concepts for exhaust gas energy utilization
Original language description
Engineering report summarizes concepts of exhaust gas utilization for commercial vehicle engine. Different configurations of turbocharging, power turbine and energy transmision are discussesd and analyzed by simulation tool using power train model of diesel engine. Criteria for concept selection are defined. Efficiency of each concept is calculated over typical duty cycle for heavy duty on-highway vehicle. Total power generated is compared to base line which is 9 liter turbocharged diesel engine with mechanical transmision.
