Original language description
During the last several years fresh fruit consumption of plums and prunes has been slightly on the rise in the Czech Republic to the present 4.6 kg per capita. Yearly, around 30,000 t of plums and prunes are produced in the country, but only 4,500 t comefrom commercial orchards. About 20% of this production is delivered to the market. Import of both fresh and dried fruits has been increasing recently and it has reached nearly a half of the total domestic production. A majority of the 3.8 million plum trees are grown very extensively in road alleys, farmyard orchards or in home gardens. The fruit processing industry uses only a small quantity of the fruits mostly for plum brandy and preserves. For this purpose, prunes are preferred than plums.

Bihem poslední nikolik let došlo u spotoeby slivoní a sušených švestek v ER ke zvýšení na 4,6 kg na hlavu. Roeni je zde produkováno asi 30 tis. tun slivoní, ale jen 4.5 tis. pochází z tržních výsadeb. Jen 20% této produkce je produkce tržní.
