The course of plant colonisation by endophyte
Original language description
Poster on 3 Universities Symposium. 8-12 October 2024, Fort Science, Olomouc, Czech Republic, 37. Study examines the endophytic fungus Microdochium bolleyi from wheat roots, using Brachypodium distachyon as a model plant. This system enables easy inoculation and microscopic observation of colonization. We developed species-specific primers for PCR and qPCR to detect and quantify M. bolleyi. The fungus colonizes seeds and spreads to the crown, roots, and lower stem but does not infect leaves or ears.
