This case study presents defects associated with the actual zinc galvanizing process itself but not with the additional coating procedure. A multi-coat system of zinc galvanizing and powder coating is relative frequently used type of surface treatment for various products. In powder coating many various defects may form of pinholes or bubbles are a common problem. There are many reasons for this defect. This paper presents failure analysis methodology and the step-by-step approach to the particular case study.
