Conductivity of Zn-Al-Mg Corrosion Products
Original language description
The paper is focused on conductivity measurements of different types of corrosion products formed on Zn-Al-Mg alloy coatings. The corrosion products were prepared by titration of chloride based solutions by solution of sodium hydroxide or sodium carbonate. Prepared corrosion products were characterised by x-ray diffraction. A conductivity was evaluated by photoluminescence method and by thermalexcitation resistometry. Results showed the conductivity decreases in the serie: zincit > simonkolleite > hydrozincite > LDH. Presence of Al and Mg did not influenced the conductivity. The effect of alloying elements on conductivity and cathodic reaction efficiency is rather indirect, because it influences the type and amount of corrosion products formed. This paper has been presented at EUROCORR 2019 (Sevilla, Spain).
