Electron Diffraction Studies on the Modified Z-Phase
Original language description
The paper deals with the results of electron diffraction (SAED and CBED) studies on particles of the modified Z-phase in 12CrMoVNbN steels after thermal/creep exposure at 550°C and 600°C. It has been demonstrated that not all diffraction patterns can beindexed using a tetragonal unit cell with dimensions a=0.286nm, c=0.739nm. Some diffraction patterns are consistent with a FCC unit cell with the parameter a=0.404nmn. The FCC unit cell is identical with the FCC subcell in the proposed tetragonal unit cell of the modified Z-phase. In situ transformation of the FCC into the tetragonal unit cell can take place by ordering of metal atom layers along the 001Z direction. The tetragonal Z-phase predominates in diffraction patterns only after long-term thermalexposure.
