Present paper brings out some information about small specimen test technique and its application in determination of selůected mechanical properties after long term operation of fossil power plant components.The utilization of the test technique for determination of tensile, fracture, fatigue and creep behaviour has beeen demonstrated. The new testing method based on samling of a small amount of test material from equipment surface is very suitable for obtaining important informations about materila properties degradation necessary for integrity anylysis and/or residual lifetime assessment of power plant components.
