The structural integrity of welded components operated at elevated temperatures is of key importance in power plant applications. Long-term creep exposure of heterogeneous welds is accompanied by redistribution of interstitial elements which strongly affects microstructural evolution in the vicinity of the fusion zone between the low and high alloy materials.
