Current State of Bioremediation in the Czech Republic

The use of bioremediation in the Czech Republic has a long history. This method has been applied to about 50 sites in situ. The amount of excavated soil treated by bioremediation is of the order of 500000 to 750000 tons. It has never been employed as a sole remediation technique. It has generally been combined with physical or physico-chemical treatment technologies.

Czech description

Využití bioremediace má v České republice dlouhou historii. Tato metoda byla aplikována na asi 50 místech in situ. Množství vytěžené zeminy upravené bioremediací je řádově 500000 až 750000 tun. Bioremediace nebyla nikdy použita jako jediná sanační metoda. Obecně byla kombinována s jinými fyzikálními nebo fyzikálně chemickými postupy.
