Original language description
The effect of different technologies of soil tillage on yields of winter wheat was evaluated in long term stationary field experiments performed on plots with chernozem soil in the sugar beet growing region within the period of 1989 to 2008.Winter wheatwas grown in 3 crop rotations after alfalfa, silage maize and peas.Four methods of tillage were evaluated. The highest average yield was obtained in the variant with peas while the lowest one after alfalfa. In all 3 crop rotations, the impact of differentmethods of soil tillage on yields of winter wheat was statistically significant. Reduction of yields in the variant with no tillage was affected by alfalfa In years 1989 to 2002, non selective herbicide was not applied in the variant with alfalfa.Resultsof these experiments indicate that it is possible to reduce intensity of soil tillage for winter wheat.
