The influence compost application on the humus content and its quality
Original language description
During the years 2013 - 2015 different doses of grape marc compost on the humus content and its quality in the vineyard and in field trial were studied. Soil characteristics of both experimental localities were different. Total organic carbon content was determined by oxidimetric titration method. The quality of humic substances was evaluated as the ratio of HA/FA by the short fractionation method and the absorbance in the UV-VIS spectral region according to colour index Q4/6. Different application doses of compost (30 t/ha and 60 t/ha in vineyards; 50 t/ha and 100 t/ha in field trial) led to a significant increase of the humus content in the soil. Its quality remained the same. No significant changes in the soil reaction were observed. More positive effect in the humus content was found in the field experiment and higher dose of compost.
