The article describes the technology of melting using an induction furnace with a cold crucible. In the first part a brief introduction to the technology is indicated. The second part deals with the description of the induction furnace with the cold crucible, its geometry and explaining its functions. Its applications are discussed very briefly. The next part focuses on the Cold Crucible Laboratory (CCL) in Research Centre Rez (CVR) and its experimental equipment. Some possibilities for the further use of the described technology for research are outlined in the conclusion.
