Original language description
Physics-based system simulation package - IGNITE has been developed that is suitable for complete vehicle system modeling and simulation, including estimation and optimisation of vehicle fuel consumption for various powertrains and driving cycles. A literature search focused on SW tools and available data for Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) in respect to the Well to Wheel topic was completed, and suitable candidates were specified. The developed examples demonstrate usage of IGNITE and selected LCA tools in case of VW EA211 gasoline turbocharged engine, IVECO diesel turbocharged engine and few variants of hybrid powertrains. The critical key points of driving cycle were identified from the increased fuel consumption, i.e. emissions production, point of view. This software is connected with the fulfilment of a milestone WP05M02 and a partial output is WP05V003.
