In the age of informational revolution, that follows industrial revolution, rapid advances in the field of innovation and expertise are spreading easily through social networks. The current nature of cheap and highly developed information technology thatis readily available to broad population is used in both technical and in social fields. Our paper focuses on the recent developments in the area of social innovations including the dispersion of innovations through social networks in communities. The paper starts off by explaining the concept of social innovations in communities. Processes by which ideas and influence spread through a social network have been studied in a number of fields. The emphasis was placed on the diffusion of technological innovations and new products.
