The text deals with the establishment Muslim immigrants in the Czech Republic, which can be observed mainly in the period following the “Velvet” Revolution of 1989. The establishment is part of a much wider process of deprivatisation of religion and its establishment in the public space, and is accompanied by many tensions. The entry of Islam also means the entry into Czech society, which is mistrustful of religion and its public role. In this respect, the orthopractical character of Islam and its attempts to rehabilitate society and turn it towards the religion are perceived by society in a highly sceptical way. In principle, the forms of establishment do not differ from entries in the public sphere that can be seen in other European countries.
