Evaluation of the Final Coating Layer Applied on the Low Carbon Steel Sheet after Corrosion Load
Original language description
Surface pre-treatments are the first and basic step before application of the final protection coatings on the material surface. We have two basic types of surface pre-treatments - mechanical and chemical. Both of these pre-treatments should prepare thebasic material - clean it from the impurities and create good conditions for the final coating adhesion. The aim of this paper is to perform a microscopic analysis of the state of the sheet metal after the load in corrosive environment. As experimental materials are used metal sheets intended for laboratory tests on which was applied chemical pre-treatment. Sheets will be exposed to the corrosive environment in several time periods. It will be monitored a change in the properties of the lacquered layerdepending on the time of corrosive action. Based on the outcomes will be processed conclusions and recommendations for manufacturers of coated sheets.
