Geopolymer Composite Materials for Passive Fire Protection of Buildings
Original language description
This article describes a relatively new type of materials, so called alkali-activated materials (composites), the process of their preparation and principle of the alkaline activation, their possible raw materials (primary and secondary), as well as the main advantages and perspectives of the alkali-activated material?s further research, with the crucial emphasis to the passive fire protection of buildings. The experimental part of this article shows the results of alkali-activated materials study based on fly-ash with the adding of woodworking waste material - sawdust. The strength comparison of samples with different amount of sawdust can be interesting output for the possible application in technical practice.
