Psychomotor therapy in Mental Health Care
Original language description
Its aim is to outline both the theoretical and practical background of psychomotor therapy. Psychomotor therapy emphasizes the effect of movement performed actively by the client. Compared to passive movement, when the therapist conducts the client motion, it results in a more positive outcome. In the case of psychomotor therapy, it is primarily the patient's activity that matters. Through activity, one is made to realize inner sensations connected to the motion, is brought in touch with its physical substance, and experiences its healing potential.
