Original language description
This study analyses the transformation of the economy of the Ústí region in the inter-regional context within the selected Czech and Saxon regions. It deals with development strategy of the region, its integration into the regional self-government and strategy development of the region. The development scheme copes with many areas. Its benefits are that participants of the regional development are mostly in the centre of attention. On the other hand there is no analysis of the impact of the EU entry onthe Czech socio-economy of the region.
