    Sorption of basic dyes onto iron humate

  • Original language description

    Sorption of several basic dyes onto a new non-conventional solid sorbent (iron humate) was measured. The sorption isotherms were descibed using a multi-site Langmuir equation and the sorption capacities were estimeted from the parameters of the sorptionisotherms. Effects of various operational parameters (pH, the presence of inorganic salts, the presence of surfactants) on the sorption efficiency were investigated. A theoretical model describing the dye sorption in the presence of oppositely charged surfactants was proposed and verified.
