The Unfavorable Influence of Transport on the Environment
Original language description
Transport has become an important factor in the development of the society, both in a positive (transport of people, raw materials, products, information) and a negative sense (traffic accidents, emissions). The rapid growth of transport capacity and thequantity of passenger and freight vehicles is reflected in the increasing environmental burden. Hence compounds emitted from all transport modes occur in all environmental components. These compounds often have adverse effects on ecosystems, animals, plants, and human health, and thus it is important to observe their occurrence in the environment.
