Original language description
The evaluation of asphalt pavements bearing capacity is usually performed by analysing pavement surface deflections measured by a Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD). The deflection changes with the pavement temperature, therefore, it is necessary to take into account the pavement thermal gradient for the evaluation. Temperature correction is an essential part of the evaluation of FWD measurements. The research activities included monitoring of the effects of asphalt pavement temperature on measured deflections and backcalculated elasticity moduli. The article contains an analysis of FWD measurement results on long-term monitored pavement sections.
