The article describes the partial results of the development of a new biosensor of cholinesterase inhibitors based on a biochemical enzymatic reaction with colorimetric evaluation. The biosensor contains the immobilized enzyme (butyrylcholinesterase), the substrate (butyrylthiocholine) and the chromogenic reagent (2,3-dichlorophenolindophenol) as well as the color-coded zone. The presence of cholinesterases inhibitors is indicated by the fact that the chromogenic agent is not discolored. The biosensor is suitable for rapid and simple detection of chemical substances (nerve gases) or industrial pesticides (organophosphates, carbamates) in water and in the air.
