Developement of concretes with ternary binders
Original language description
The replacement of ordinary portland cement by mineral admixtures represents a promising way of concrete technology from the point of view of technological properties, durability, economy and ecology. One of the negative properties is lower early strengths of mixtures with mineral admixtures. Some possibilities of the use of two mineral admixtures are discussed in this paper. The first of these admixtures can be, e.g., ground granulated blast furnace slag or fly ash. The second admixture can be groundedlimestone or concrete filler. The combination of the above-mentioned admixtures can show a synergic effect ? an effect whereby the early strength of concrete with ternary binder is higher than those of concretes with one of the admixtures. The effect ofvarious combinations of these admixtures is discussed in this paper. The effects of ternary blended binders on frost resistance of concretes are also shortly discussed.
