Some aspects of durability of concrete with ternary binders
Original language description
Ternary binders are developed to reach some interesting properties. For example ? the concrete with these ternary binders shows a higher early strength than that with only one of the admixtures ? binary binders. The compounds of these binders are groundgranulated blast furnace slag or fly ash and limestone. An interesting development of the frost resistance of concretes with mineral admixture was recorded in the previous paper. The frost resistance of concretes containing active mineral admixtures without entrained air was much worse than that of concrete without mineral admixture and without air entraining. The second discussed aspect is alkali silica reaction. Mineral admixtures are well known as effective agents for the lowering of the risk of alkali-silica reaction. The ground granulated blast furnace slag and fly ash are often considered as convenient admixtures. Blends - ternary binders - of these admixtures with ground limestone were tested in accordance with ASTM C 1260-94. Th
