Enzymatic transesterification of soybean oil

Original language description

Monoglycerides of soybean oil, basic row material for synthesis of alkyd resins, are conventionally manufactured using inorganic alkaline catalyst to accelerate the reaction. Lipase-catalyzed glycerolysis of oils and fats at atmospheric pressure and lower temperature have been studied as alternative method. The products of enzymatic glycerolysis of soya bean oil were successfully used for preparation of alkyd resins.
