One of the possibilities when solving the particular problems concerning the drives of mechanism working elements with a defined technological motion function is carrying out working motions by cam or cam ? link mechanisms with conventional or electroniccams. Whereas the applications of conventional cams in machine mechanisms are generally well-know, electronic cams start up to apply themselves in various forms not until in recent years. This is due to the theoretical difficulty of the above mentionedcategories and associated diverse qualifications of research team workers. The paper deals with the definition of electronic cam itself and the problems associated with applications in the drives of mechanism working elements of processing machines.
