In automation, the motion of a machine and a device is defined in various ways. When the given moment of an actuating link is defined precisely, there is used position, velocity or moment control is used. One of the possible control types is an electronic cam, which is a combination of not only HW concept of PLC (programmable logic controller), servo-amplifier and actuating link but also of SW and control program. The actuating link of the electronic cam can be rotary or linear electric, pneumatic or hydraulic servomotor. From the given servomotor there is necessary to measure the position so that the system knows where it is.
