The paper deals with the basic nodal point of the small diameter knitting machines, which is the lock-needle system. Analysis of the forces that have an impact on the needle including passive resistance and specifications of the positions of their bearers are described in the paper. The needle is inserted into the path with certain prestress that causes a significant flexural stress (higher than was supposed). The results are kinematic dependences of the needle movement that show the moments of the needle separation from the sides of track that determine critical coefficient of the friction etc.

Czech description
Článek pojednává o základním uzlu maloprůměrových pletacích strojů, kterým je soustava zámek-jehla. Je zde proveden rozbor sil působících na jehlu včetně pasivních odporů a jsou určeny též polohy jejich nositelek. Jehla je do dráhy vkládána s určitým předpětím, které způsobuje značné ohybové namáhání jehly (víc než bylo předpokládáno). Výsledkem jsou kinematické závislosti pohybu jehly, které ukazují okamžiky odpoutání jehly od stěn drážky, určujících kritický koeficient tření apod.
