Inserting technology in plastic injection moulding

Original language description

Inserting technology means the inserting of metal subcomponents to the plastic injection mould and further over-moulding with plastic material. The inserting of foreign part brings interference of a structure of plastic staff because of its different temperature. The inserts also disturb geometry of the part and melt flow in the cavity. Generally interfaces between the mold, insert and plastic are very important to be evaluated before a mould construction and injection process start. This contribution presents problematic areas of inserting technology in specific application.
