A STUDY OF CYCLE-BY-CYCLE VARIATIBILITY OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH DIRECT INJECTION OF NATURAL GAS
Original language description
A cycle-by-cycle variations of a natural gas direct injection three cylinder combustion engine were describes in this paper. An air-fuel ratio was varied from the stoichiometric to the lean limit at two different injection timing (SOI). The engine was tested at the constant air-fuel ratio with variable injection timing and the spark timing. The results showed that coefficient of variation COVPmax for the maximum pressure (Pmax) and COVIMEP for the indicated mean effective pressure (IMEP) could be reduced by the optimal injection timing and the spark timing.
