MEASUREMENT OF MECHANICAL LOSSES IN THE COMBUSTION ENGINES
Original language description
This article shows a possibility in increasing of combustion engine efficiency. Increasing of efficiency brings noticeable fuel consumption decrease. That means less amount of harmful substances, which brings a positive effect for environment. Total efficiency can be increased by friction losses decreasing. It is decreasing of mechanical losses between movable components of combustion engine. Turn of the combustion engines is used method for measurement of mechanical losses very often. The paper will show choice of the measurement results on the testing bench. The Technical University of Liberec, Department of Vehicles and Engines, has developed a design of a testing bench which would enable the measuring mechanical losses of the combustion engines fordifferent temperatures of cooling water and engine lubrication oil.
