Original language description
Iron aluminides belong to a wide group of intermetallic alloys. The long distance arrangement of individual metal atoms is responsible for some special properties as an exceptional corrosion resistance or a high mechanical strength. Addition of small amount of zirconium leads to formation of laves- or tau- phase, which further increases the mechanical strength. This work deals with the assessment of the structure, the high-temperature mechanical properties and the effect of heat treatment on the Fe-30Al-5Zr alloy.
