The work examines porosity of samples from casting alloys like Al-Si, the so called silumine, through non-destructive testing method. Definition and parameters of porosity ? volume fraction, shape of pores. Relation to mechanical and physical properties.Experiment with model thin walls with constant cross-section porosity. The work evaluates the degree of porosity a nondestructive method using eddy currents and microscopic quantification of porosity.
