Original language description
Electrical components used in vehicles or trains are exposed to vibrations during the vehicle driving. Their perfect anchoring in the cases is important for their reliable operation and disorders minimization. The resistance of fasteners against vibration testing is necessary during their new type development. Basic vibration test is performed at normal temperature and vibrations exposure is for each vehicle or train type defined by the standard EN 60068-2-6. Because a large temperature range can be achieved during real operation, the cases and components are exposed to the combined loading by vibrations and temperature. The elements thermal expansion may negatively affect the used fasteners reliability. Therefore, most producers perform vibrations test at various temperatures to minimize this risk.
