MOTORING ENGINE DUTY CYCLE WITH MAXIMUM CYLINDER PRESSURES AS IN REAL ENGINE OPERATION
Original language description
The investigation of mechanical losses in ICE by motoring with high working pressures in the cylinders is based on blowing doses of compressed air into the cylinders around BDC by self-acting valves. Meanwhile, the motored internal combustion engine has permanently closed valves (the working cycle is without changing the contents of the cylinders). Experimental research proved the reliable function of self-acting valves, and the measurements provided data on the dependence of mechanical and heat losses in the engine on working pressures in the cylinder. The upcoming exact modelling of the working cycle of a motoring engine without changing the cylinder‘s contents, carried out in the environment of modern simulation tools, requires a high-quality description of the flow properties of the self-acting valve - the presented contribution shows a solution to this problem.
