Identification the beginning of moisture condensation during air flow through a nozzle

  • Original language description

The submitted paper deals with the determination of the dependence of the Mach number at the beginning of the occurrence of moisture condensation during the isentropic flow of moist air on the stagnation parameters. When gas flows, its pressure and temperature change simultaneously with a change in velocity. If the flowing medium is moist air, its relative moisture also changes. During expansion flow, when pressure and temperature decrease and velocity and relative humidity increase, a situation can occur where the flowing moist air reaches a state of saturation, and the excess moisture begins to be gradually excreted. In this paper, we are looking for the Mach number values, at which (given an isentropic flow) a condensed phase of water could appear in the flow field of moist air at a certain stagnation state (given by the pressure, temperature, and relative moisture). Diagrams that can be used to identify the limit values for the stagnation temperature and the stagnation relative humidity required to achieve a specific Mach number for the flow field without the risk of any moisture condensation occurring have subsequently been constructed.
